Guide for measuring windows
Measure the width
Measure brickwork to brickwork from the outside in three places: top, middle and bottom. Use the smallest measurement and deduct approximately 10mm.
Measure the height
Measure the height in a few places and use the smallest measurement. If the window sits on a cill, measure from underneath the existing cill where possible.
Important measuring notes
- Measure from outside where possible.
- Measure brickwork to brickwork, not the old window frame.
- Always use the smallest width and height measurement.
- Deduct approximately 10mm from the smallest measurement to allow fitting tolerance.
- Include cills, add-ons and extenders in the overall size where required.
- If you are ordering without a cill, make sure the correct option is selected.
- If you are unsure, contact YK Windows before ordering and send photos for advice.
